This site is now my personal site. PIPEd does not officially endorse the content.

For a while this site was PIPEd’s news feed site. I lent the use of the domain to PIPEd for news and announcements while we updated our (PIPEd) web site from a static to dynamic format.

Now that transition has been made, InthePipeline.org is no longer for PIPEd use and I’ll soon tidy it up to reflect that.

I’m pleased to announce that this site will now be used for . . . something else . . . um . . . er . . . I don’t really have a clue. I’ll use it for whatever I like.

You see, from time to time, I buy domain names I think up that are still available. The idea is to sit on them for a while and either sell them, rent them out (park), or use some other creative means of using them (for profit or otherwise).

So, any content from this point forward is my own and not offically endorsed by PIPEd.

So, what are you still doing here? Head over to PIPEd. PIPEd provides awesome training for Pipeliners by Pipeliners. Or maybe you’d like to read the post below, which is an example of my sick sense of humor, and then head over to PIPEd.

Oritos graduate engineer Jack Young commented, “Ed’s pipeline courses are great. And now he’s even helping me understand my own company.”

Tom Snell, Oritos CEO added, “Ensuring all levels of my organisation understand the company’s visional aspiration to transform ourselves along a new pathway of synergistic internal relationships and understanding across all inter-departmental, cultural, and technical boundaries is paramount to finding our true corporate expression and moving forward. Since our people don’t always understand where my Management Team and Principal Engineers are coming from we have sequestered Edward Hugo from PIPEd to aid facilitation in better corporate cross consciousness and intercommunication.”

“I agree with Tom”, commented Ed, “As he said, it is important that everyone in an organisation understands each other. I know I can help them out.”

Tom Snell went on to explain, “I’m hoping Ed can really get our employees to comprehend the essence of our mission which is to use a strategic synergistic planning process to help management teams and employees focus on their most significant opportunities to further individuals, client organisations and inter-related stakeholders in understanding their potential and assisting them in doing what’s necessary to turn that potential into actions resulting in the achievement of their goals within the corporate, technical and operational framework of our gas pipelining business leading towards strengthened external, personal, inter-company, and commercial relationships thus maximising our growth and capital position within the industry to the ultimate benefit of our employees and shareholders.”

PIPEd’s parent company, OSD Pipelines, has been recognised in this year’s Business Review Weekly’s “Fast 100″ for Australia’s small and medium enterprises.

This is good news for PIPEd as we rely on OSD’s cash to keep us going. PIPEd is working with the pipeline industry to help fill the training needs and ultimately aims to break even as a philanthropic venture. We’re not there yet and owe OSD a great debt for their commitment to sustaining the PIPEd initiative (literally).Â

OSD Pipelines received 51st place in the “Fast 100″ list and has previously been placed 24th in 2006 and 41st in 2005, which reflects the consistent growth of the company.

Brian, Managing Director of OSD Pipelines, said “We are grateful to the pipeline industry for allowing us to be more accepted as a service provider of choice. This has allowed us to grow, which in turn allows us to provide further support to the industry. We will continue to strive to ensure that we continue to deliver services which our clients regard as technically and commercially excellent, which in turn allows our clients businesses to grow.”Â

PIPEd is education for Pipeliners by Pipeliners subsidised by Pipeliners, thanks to OSD.

Hi all,

Here is a fantastic opportunity to get out of the office and see some “real stuff”, not to mention a great networking event.

We are planning a Construction Site Visit (Western Pipeline Alliance) first week in December (ie. week commencing Mon 3 Dec). Â

That week we will be able to see some of the large diameter pipe being laid, insertion of the pipe into the Bremer River crossing (via large vertical shafts) and many road crossings.

We really need to know if you are interested (& if a particular day suits). Do you have colleagues (<35yr old) that would like to come?

Would you please let me know by Friday 2nd November 4pm.

It would also be good to know whether those who are interested have PPE (especially steel caps).

Thanks,
